The great joy of making stuff is that your skills and tools compound.

If you've only got a set of wrenches and screwdrivers you're quite limited. If you've got a drill and a hammer there's a bit more you can do. If you can cut and weld aluminum (even if you're not especially good at it like me) your options grow exponentially. Throw in some 3-d printing, and some basic spray painting ability and you can cobble together a whole host of things.

Starlink doesn't make the exact kind of bracket I need for the house, but there it is on the roof exactly where I needed it to be, a few hours after the dish arrived. Problem solved.
